Connected Cities of Learning – Autumn Update
City of Learning is an initiative that aims to help connect people to extracurricular activities as well as to use the potential of Digital badges to drive greater participation in non-formal and informal learning and to close opportunity gaps in cities. Within the project Connected Cities of Learning we want to transfer this good practice from Vilnius City of Learning to Ljubljana City of Learning and Cagliari Region of Learning.
As of now, we successfully transferred online mapping software and good practice experience from Vilnius City of Learning to Ljubljana and Cagliari. Both cities mapped and connected opportunities of non-formal and informal learning enabling young people to better match them with their needs, interests and passions. The results are fully functioning City of Learning platforms Ljubljana City of Learning and Cagliari Metropolitan City of Learning that offer together over 90 learning opportunities for young people.
Each city engaged young people in identifying learning opportunities and shaping the understanding of learning according to their needs, interests and passions and with that exploration defined focus of their platform.
Due to special circumstances partners decided to prolong the project, ensuring us additional year to realize planned “in person” meetings and trainings. But in the meanwhile we are individually meeting with local learning providers and are engaging young people to join our initiative in every possible way. We offer to young people of Italy and Slovenia various digital activities and learning opportunities as well as staying active and promoting our initiative.
