Welcome Blackpool City of Learning!
Our city
Blackpool is a large town and seaside resort on the Lancashire coast in North West England. The town has a population of approximatley 150,000 and while well known historically as one of the UK’s premier holiday destinations, now more commonly known as a seaside town looking to redevelop it’s identity while struggling to overcome deprivation, high seasonal unemployment and regularly featuring high in National tables as an area of need. Blackpool is part of a coastal strip called the Fylde Coast the reaches as far north as Fleetwood and south as Lytham. Blackpool with it’s Tower, Circus, Ballrooms, Theatres and theme park is still an entertainment jewel and major attraction.
Our focus
Our focus is to work with local delivery partners to promote the CoL platform as a place and resource in promoting and engaging with young people through a variety of learning opportunities. We have tried and tested the platform already with two arts programmes and look to continue this focus on arts, creativity and culture but also open of other delivery partners to develop and grow opportunities for the platform.

At the moment Blackpool City of Learning platform don’t offer anything open. We want to be the go to platform for other organisations to promote their activities and learning opportunities.
Our potential
We aim at promoting a greater understanding of the work and possibilities with different organisations in our area with a special focus on creativity, arts and education.

Test and populate yourself before promoting and engaging with other organisations! Communication and visibility is the key!
